The ASUS K70IJ-D1B is a notebook that is designed to provide no-frills computing on the go. It is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Besides that, it also has the ability to perform cinematic audio and visual playback.

The ASUS K70IJ-D1B incorporates the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) that consists of the Power4 Gear Hybrid application which facilitates the deployment and usage of power according to the users’ preferences in relation to the specific tasks that they need to perform and the Energy Processing Unit (EPU) that accurately detects the users’ power requirements and makes the necessary power adjustments. In addition to that, it also incorporates Asus IceCool design which consists of cleverly designed and positioned heat vents which keep the palm rest cool at a temperature that is lower than that of the human body. Besides that, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B also has a high definition colour-shine glare type LED backlit display that measures 17.3 inches diagonally. It has a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. The display is able to provide a higher contrast rate and colour saturation which are complemented by the Intel GMA 4500M integrated graphics card for crisp and clear visuals. Not only that, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B also features built-in Altec Lansing speakers which are complemented by SRS Premium Sound to provide high definition audio playback. The ASUS K70IJ-D1B operates on an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5870 that has a speed of 2.0 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache and a bus speed of 800 MHz. It is paired with a Mobile Intel GL40 Express Chipset. Besides that, in terms of system memory, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B incorporates 3 GB of DDR2-800/ PC2-6400 SDRAM that is upgradeable up to a maximum of 4 GB. As for storage, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B has a built-in SATA hard disk drive that has a capacity of 250 GB and a speed of 5400 RMP. In addition to that, it also includes a free recovery disk and a hidden partition in the hard drive that allows users to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system as well as pre-loaded software to factory settings. Not only that, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B also comes together with an 8x Super Multi DVR-RW Dual Layer optical drive. There is also a 3-in-1 card reader that is compatible with SD, MMC and MS memory cards. In addition to that, there is also a built-in 1.3 mega pixel video camera located right above the display screen. In terms of network and communications, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B is compatible with WLAN 802.11 b/g/n standards as well as LAN 10/ 100/ 1000 Base T networks. There is a VGA port, four USB 2.0 ports, a headphone-out (stereo) jack, a microphone in jack, a HDMI and a LAN RJ 45 port on the body of the ASUS K70IJ-D1B. Input method consists of a full size keyboard with 88 keys of 19mm each including MS Windows function keys. Unlike typical notebooks, the ASUS K70IJ-D1B also includes a numeric keypad just like a standalone keyboard.
