It seems to be the week of laptops and netbooks. Toshiba has announced its new AC100 that works on Google Android 2.1. The laptop looks really small. It seems to be portable as well. This ultra-thin netbook from Toshiba is most likely to appeal to those who are constantly on the move and are looking for something light to carry around.

Now, let’s get to know more about its features. The Toshiba AC100 works on a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 250 processor. It comes with 512MB of DDR2 memory. It comes with a 10.1-inch display with a native resolution of 1,024×600 pixels. The device comes with 8GB of storage, thanks to its bundled SSD card. The most exciting thing about this netbook is the fact that it works on the Google Android 2.1 operating system. It’s not the latest 2.2 version, but still it’s one of the best. The Toshiba AC100 weighs 899g and measures 21mm in thickness. It comes with a battery that can last for about eight hours. Other features include 3G and WiFi connectivity.

This week seems to be Samsung’s week as the brand announces yet another netbook. This time it’s a big deal as the electronics manufacturer is launching dubs the world’s first LTA-HSPA+ dual-mode netbook, the N350. There are a lot of netbooks on the market with similar features, let’s see how this one is different.

The Samsung N350 is special as it focuses more towards achieving a greener environment. We won’t bore you with all the ‘going green’ speeches, but this netbook was made with saving the environment in mind.

Since it is a LTA-HSPA+ dual-mode netbook, it is able to communicate with both 3G and 4G networks. Aside from that, it is a light netbook, which makes it easy to carry around anywhere. The device works on the Intel Atom N550 at a clock speed of 1.5GHz. It comes with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and a hard disk drive of 250GB. Other features include 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0. The Samsung N350 comes with a battery that can last for up to 6.7 hours. It will be released this autumn in Germany.

More and more netbooks will be released soon with better parts. News on the internet is buzzing that more netbooks and ultramobiles will be equipped with AMD’s upcoming Fusion hybrid chips. These devices are set to be released by early next year.

These small and ultraportable laptops will be more power-efficient thanks to the new AMD chips that will be implemented in them. This will definitely attract more consumers as netbook owners always tend to complain that their devices are slow especially when it comes to playing videos of high quality. Hopefully with the new AMD chips code-named Ontario, the netbooks will function way better and satisfy consumers.

Come early next year, consumers will be able to experience a different type of netbooks. These netbooks will be equipped with AMD’s latest CPU-based chips. These Ontario chips include two Bobcat processor cores and a DirectX-11 capable GPU. These chips have been designed to be used with netbooks and ultraportable laptops. Here’s hoping to a better year for netbooks in the market.

For a while now, Acer has been creating a netbook that is set to work on Google’s Chrome OS. Acer, on its part, has been very quiet about its new subject, but thanks to a recent leak we were able to know a little about the details. The leak comes after a staff on Acer’s side has been reporting on an unnamed netbook. The device is going through several tests notably the Linux and Google Chrome as bug reports were submitted based on these tests.

Aside from that, we were able to fish a few details regarding the unnamed Acer netbook itself. Here goes; it works on a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 CPU; it comes with a 1GB of memory and 8GB SanDisk pSSD (solid state disk). It has a feature that is quite common on other netbooks: an ambient light sensor. It also features WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity as its connection options. No word yet on the pricing or release date, but experts say it won’t be long. Stay tuned for more updates on this Acer Google Chrome netbook.

Do you still remember a time when there were no netbooks around? We must have been like 2 or 3 years younger then. Though the time might seem near but it now seems like ages since netbooks were brought into this world.

We remember when netbooks burst into the scene some time back, gadget freaks were excited about this mini laptop that they can carry with them everywhere. On top of that, these netbooks came with wireless connection that allowed its owners to use them in places where Wi-Fi was available. A netbook is basically what a laptop is but in mini-size, with lesser features, lower performance level and not forgetting, a cheaper price.

Netbooks first came with 7-inch screens which eventually grew to 9-inch screens. Now, the standard size for a netbook display is 10-inch. Recently emerging into the market are the arrivals of new 12-inch models which somehow is within the border line of the difference between a netbook and a laptop. With this in mind, we continue to stand by and watch the technology around us evolving as fast as lightning.

The Olive Zipbook X107H is manufactured by Olive Telecom which is a handset manufacturer some place in India called Gurgaon. The manufacturer apparently released many other hip devices before this netbook. Some time back, they launched India’s first mobile phone that works on any AAA battery.

Back to the Olive Zipbook X107H netbook. The device comes with an inbuilt CDMA 3G connection which is a first for a netbook as most netbooks use either Wi-Fi or ethernet cable to gain access to the internet. The netbook looks smaller than the normal netbooks. It comes with a small 10.2-inch screen and has a small keyboard. It runs on Windows XP Home Edition. There are three USB ports, a card reader, an ethernet jack and a headphone jack. The Olive Zipbook X107H will be available in different colors including yellow, red, white and black.

Samsung has decided to add another model to its Go range of netbooks. The new model entitled Go N315 comes with the new Intel Pinetrail platform. It also features the Intel N450 processor. This new netbook comes with a memory capacity of 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It also comes with Intel GMA 3150 graphics. It features an integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 10/100 LAN.
Since the new Atom N450 CPU was announced, many manufacturers are implementing this new chip in their netbooks. Gigabyte too wasn’t far behind by releasing their T1000 tablet with the new Atom N450 CPU. The new Gigabyte T1000 comes with a 10.1-inch LCD display. The display on this device enables the users the ability to interchange between a netbook setup and tablet setup. It comes with a 1GB DDR2 RAM and a 250GB 2.5-inch SATA HDD. It features an integrated microphone and two 1.5W speakers. It also has a 1.3 megapixel web cam. Other features are two USB 2.0 ports and eSATA/USB combo. The Gigabyte T1000 has support for wireless, Ethernet and Bluetooth connections.

The Gigabyte T1000 netbook will be released in two versions which will be different from one another in terms of battery life and weight. The Gigabyte T1000x is the lighter one while the Gigabyte T1000p has a longer battery life. No price has been announced as of now but we wonder with all these tablets releasing where does that put the Apple iPad?
