Dell has just released its new Latitude laptop which is aimed at small and medium businesses or enterprises. Seriously, Dell always tends to classify who will use their laptops. Dell has also been promoting the Latitude 13 as being (in their words) “the world’s thinnest 13-inch commercial client laptop”.
This laptop seems to have the same chassis as the Vostro 13 (released in December 2009). We are surprised over the fact it is light and at the same time has a 13.3-inch HD-ready screen (1366 x 768 pixels). Dell didn’t release much info including on what processor will it work on but rumor has it that it will be either by a CULV Celeron or Core 2 Duo from Intel. Memory capacity is said to be 2GB RAM and a 160GB hard disk drive. Though this laptop is aimed to be used for business purposes it only features just these options (aimed for business purposes) SSD options, full disk encryption, Computrace recovery services and Trusted Platform Module plus remote manageability. The Dell Latitude 13 also features 802.11n, Bluetooth, WWAN. pre-installed Citrix client and even an external Blu-ray drive. Word around that this Dell laptop will cost almost twice as much as Vostro 13.
