Dell Latitude XT2

The Dell Latitude XT2 is a tablet PC with touch screen and is powered by an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo ULV processor. User can choose either a 1.20 GHz SU9300 or a 1.40 GHz SU9400 processor. It runs Genuine Windows Vista® Ultimate, Business, Business 64 bit, Ultimate with Downgrade Rights Service to Windows® XP Tablet Edition or Business with Downgrade Rights Service to Windows® XP Tablet Edition. The XT2 has an Intel small form factor with Montevina chipset, and sports a 12.1 inch Premium WXGA LED display with wide view and 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions.

This can be upgraded to a daylight viewable LED display. The XT2 supports a 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066 MHz (PC3-8500) memory capacity via a SO DIMM 204-pin slot (upgradeable to 5GB (1×1GB on board, 1×4GB DIMM) DDR3 1066MHz). It can also support a 80 GB or 120 GB 5400 RPM SATA hard disk drive, or a 64 GB Ultra Performance solid state drive (SSD) / 64 GB / 128 GB Mobility SSD. The graphics support on this tablet PC comes from an Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and the XT2 also has wireless connectivity via Dell Wireless 1397 for 802.11g data speed, Dell Wireless 1510 (802.11 a/g/n), Intel WiFi Link 5100 (802.11a/g/n) and Intel WiFi Link 5300 (802.11a/g/n). It also supports Dell 365 Bluetooth® module and gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000). Security features on this unit comprises optional Smart Card Reader (via Express Card slot), TPM 1.2, Finger Printer reader option, Dell ControlVault™ and Dell ControlPoint Security Manager. Expandability on the XT2 is through a 54 mm Expresscard / SD Card slot, XT2 Media Slice docking device, and E-family modular (external) media bay that provides additional support for an 8X DVD-ROM, 24X CDRW/DVD and 8X DVD+/-RW optical drive and a second hard drive. The Dell LAtitute XT2 supports ports such as 1394, two USB 2.0 (one powered), a USB 2.0/eSATA shared port, VGA, RJ-45, and audio port. The XT2 measures 11.7 inch x 8.7 inch x 1.1 inch (297 x 220.6 x 27.4 mm) and weighs 3.62 lbs (1.64 kg) with 4-cell battery / 3.78 lbs (1.72 kg) with 6-cell battery.

The XT2 is a tablet PC with a 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 resolution touch screen and is powered by either an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo ULV 1.20GHz SU9300 or a 1.40 GHz SU9400. The tablet PC features the Intel® vPro™ Technology’s advanced management and Dell ControlPoint™. Intel® vPro™ technology has remote management features that that gives users the ability to manage systems that are powered down or have no operating system. This feature reduces time spent on patch deployment by up to 94 percent and desk-side service visits by up to 56 percent. The Dell ControlPoint™ software support on the tablet PC lets users stay connected via wireless connectivity with support for current wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Wireless-N and Bluetooth®. The tablet PC system features Dell Memory upgrade that allows users to work on 3D imaging, multimedia, and other memory intensive applications. The Dell Latitude XT2 has features and options that provide it portability. It comes with optional high-capacity battery slice that allows users to work in either notebook PC mode or convert to tablet mode. In tablet mode, the XT2 features a system designed with input capabilities including a capacitive touch screen coupled with N-Trig’s DuoSense, making it multitouch capable with either motions from fingers or a pen. This allows users to scroll through large web pages, zoom in on graphics, photos or online maps, enlarge emails to aid reading, close the screen, and collaborate in real-time and more via input from the pen or finger.

The Dell Latitude XT2 also allows users to rotate images with a pivot like motion. In laptop mode, users have both the options of using the touch screen as well as the full-sized keyboard with dual-pointing (track stick and buttons). The Dell Latitude XT2 also features Dell ProSupport Mobility Services. The Dell ProSupport Mobility Services is a suite of modular asset and data protection services to protect laptop computers and company information. These include: Laptop Tracking and Recovery that helps track and recover lost or stolen laptops; Remote Data Delete that enables users to remotely delete sensitive company data if a laptop is lost or stolen; Hard Drive Data Recovery which retrieves information from a failed or damaged hard drive; Certified Data Destruction that destroys notebook data in a secure manner, providing certification of destruction, and disposing of the user’s hard drive in an environmentally responsible manner; CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service which covers repair and replacement costs associated with most accidental damages to laptops caused by spills, drops and surges and Extended Battery Service that expands battery warranties that include the option to replace a battery in the second to third year of system ownership.
