Good news for all Dell Streak owners, get your devices ready for the much needed upgrade! Dell Streak PC tablet will be receiving its much awaited and needed upgraded this week. The upgrade concerns its operating system that will go from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1.
Even though it’s an Adroid 2.1 upgrade, this is not the latest of the Android operating system. O2 will be releasing the upgrade over the air through its network this week. It’s puzzling why Dell won’t upgrade it to the Google’s latest operating system which was recently released. Instead, Dell will only be providing the Android 2.1 upgrade instead of the Froyo upgrade.
When the Dell Streak released, several experts commented on how the brand made a bad decision to include an old version of Android’s OS on the Streak tablet PC. Afterwards, it was said that Dell will directly upgrade the Streak to the latest Android OS, which is the Android 2.2 Froyo. But, that didn’t happen. For now, enjoy the new upgrade to the Android 2.1.
