The notebook runs the Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional to provide users with optimal computing platform for everyday business utilities. The 512 MB DDR-RAM memory powers the notebook to handle everyday task of pulling together presentations, document processing, office application and more. All this is viewed on its 12.1 inch WXGA TFT display that supports Active Matrix technology with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution support that is powered by an Intel 855GME graphics card. The WinBook X500 also also comes with a 80 GB hard disk drive for users to store important documents and files. Users can also burn documents and files onto DVDs or CDs via it Nero Express utility that comes bundled with the notebook, via its CDRW / DVD combo optical drive that provides users with up to 24x (CD-ROM)/8x DVD-ROM read speeds and 24x CD-R/CD-RW / 8x DVD+R/4x DVD-RW/DVD-R/2x DVD-RW write speeds. Additional memory storage ca be expanded via the 4-in-1 memory card reader that supports MMC, SD, MS and MS-Pro memory cards. Business professionals can also utilize the notebook to check their everyday emails via the WinBook X500’s IEEE 802.11 g wireless LAN support.
